Sad news about Phil Tuck

We are saddened to announce the premature death of Phil Tuck last week in a cycling accident in France.

Phil’s family contacted Bounty Squash Club and asked them to inform club members of Phil’s passing and the club asked us to post an update on our site. Phil was a stalwart of squash at Bounty, having joined the club in 2001 and played every season since, representing the teams in both Senior and Vets matches.

Working in the wine industry since 1986, after graduating Sussex University, he was renowned at the club for both his tenacity on court – always battling for the win, and off court – bringing his work with him and serving up the most beautiful wines to both home and away teams.

On behalf of everyone at Bounty Squash Club, Gavin Jackson has asked that teams celebrate Phil after all the team matches this coming Thursday (27th July), by raising a glass of wine in his memory. We wholeheartedly support this request.

Phil was also a generous supporter of Berkshire Squash over many years and sponsored numerous county closed events we host, providing many bottles of Taittinger Champagne to the winners. He will be sadly missed, but we should respect the family’s privacy at this extremely difficult time.
